Cannot update directly from WP since 2.2.5 version

I have multiple clients so I showed them how to update plugins themselves. Since 2.2.5 version they cannot update (it says plugin is up to date) when 2.2.6 and even 2.2.7 already exists. I haven’t noticed before what is the timespan between version release and actual ability to update from WP.
