Hi @Daniele and team,
I’d like to suggest adding a country code selector to Pro Forms phone fields – basically a dropdown with country flags and dial codes that users can pick from before entering their number.
Right now we have the phone field, which works fine for local projects. But for international sites or multilingual forms, it would be really helpful to let users select their country first (with the flag + code showing, like +49 for Germany).
What I’m thinking:
- Dropdown with flags and codes (
+49,
+43,
+41, etc.) - Auto-format the number based on selected country
- Set a default country (maybe based on site language or manually)
- Store the full number with country code
- Bonus: validate the number format per country
Why this would be useful:
- much better UX for international forms
- reduces input errors with auto-formatting
- forms look more professional
Example:
There are some solid libraries out there like intl-tel-input that handle this pretty well (you might already know), so the implementation might not be too complicated.
I think this would make Pro Forms even more versatile – it’s one of those features people often expect in modern forms.
What do you think?
