With the current File Element, a user can only upload new files from their hard drive. But imagine logged-in users who are Editors of the site. For them, it would be helpful if they could choose whether the file associated with the post comes from their hard drive or the Media Library.
Are you suggesting there be two modes added to the file upload field that the administrator could pick in the backend and then it would change how it was presented in the front end?
For example if they picked media mode, it would provide front-end access to the media library?
I can appreciate where you’re coming with for this idea. I can see it be very useful if you could additionally had dynamic filter tags. e.g. “show all brochures for x” so that the user can quickly select existing content they want to attach to the operation.
However my immediate reservations for this idea are with security.
Not exacty. I want to have a File upload element where any logged in user can select if the file is coming from an external source (harddsic) or from the mediia libary. Of course this would only be possible for user roles who have access to the media libary. Would be very helpful if you want to have an interal page where Team members can add and edit content with Forntend Forms.
