Form can submit without required fields!

Hello again team,

I’m currently working on a form with 4 steps, and many fields have been set as required.

But we can still submit the form even without the required fields filled out.

What happens here? And how can I share the page link privately.

John.

I also reported this, and it was simply ignored by the developer. I’m sure he’ll get around to it next time he wants to look at Pro Forms.

Hi John,

thanks for reaching out!

Normally, the form should not proceed to the next step if the current step contains invalid or empty required fields. So this behavior definitely sounds off.

To investigate further, please feel free to share your page link with us privately. You can do this by wrapping the sensitive information like this:

That way, the content will only be visible to our admin team. Alternatively, you’re also welcome to open a support ticket with the details – whichever works best for you!

Hey Daniele,

Thanks. We have to get this form working today or tomorrow as hundreds of people will use it.

Hey guys,

Any new insights on this? We’re holding off sending out the onboarding form until this is working. I can also send a support ticket if I have to.

John.

I had to press forward and revert back to JetFormBuilder (yuck) instead of waiting for a fix on my project. I would request that the developers prioritize bugs like this in the future as it can actually lead to financial losses and cause problems in systems we rely on when something as basic as field validation is not fixed in a timely manner.

Yeah, I’m never gonna use Jetform Builder. Its just Gutenberg block-shit which is a WP disaster project. That stuff is a dumpster-fire, and I will never be a user of it.

So, it would be nice to see that ProForms get prioritized on bugs like this when its such a high-end and flexible form-builder.

Yeah but projects aren’t gonna wait for your plugin developers. You’re lucky you can push your project deadline out. From what I understand there should be a BricksForge update this week but whether it fixes this issue is unknown.

Hey guys, a fix for this issue will be included in the next version which I deploy later today  Sorry for the delay. I actually wanted to upload a hotfix last week, but didn’t get around to it.

Thanks for the update Daniele. Its just in time :+1:t2:

Just to let you know: I’m postponing the update to Saturday/Sunday. There are still some bugs on my list that I’d like to address in it. So if you need it before Monday, just drop me a message and I’ll send you the rc in advance

I’ll just wait then, and hope we don’t get much submissions this weekend. So far its been quiet, and the form works. We just hope users fill out all fields.

All good.

The update has just been deployed

Hi Daniel,

Thanks. But we see now after the update that there is no difference in the form. Several attendees have already submitted forms without filling out mandatory fields.

Its incredible how silly people can be and not even fill out their first and last name. Users are hopeless at times. So we need to have this fixed.

That`s strange! Did you try to clear the server cache? I cannot reproduce it anymore.
Otherwise, could you send access over using the [sensitive] tag?
Thanks!

Hi,

Yes, I always keep flushing cache on this site as I’m doing a lot of building. I’ll direct login link.

Here’s the login:

The form is just on the current “homepage” under Pages in WP.
