We recently took over a client website that came with the Bricks. For some unfortunate incidents we need to rebuild the site from scratch and the developer that made the site is not reachable.
Although we can clearly see that the license is active from the dashboard. Will it be possible to buy a license for this website and replace the license? Any conflicts or problems that may arise out of it?
Hi,
yes, that works without any problem. A Bricksforge license is tied to a domain and the key is stored inside the WordPress installation itself. So on your rebuilt site you simply install Bricksforge, open the Bricksforge admin page (Bricks > Bricksforge) and its License tab, enter your own key and activate it for the domain. From then on everything - including plugin updates - runs through your license only. The plugin never checks the previous developer’s license, so there is nothing that could clash on the site.
One thing worth doing if you still have access to the old installation: open the same License page there and click “Deactivate License for this domain” before you tear it down. That frees the domain slot on the old license. If that is no longer possible, it is not a blocker for you - just let us know the domain and your license key and we will clean it up on our side.
Kind regards
Daniele
